Islamabad: Sector I-15 development starts next month

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) will start development work in Sector I-15 in the first week of April and it has hired a consultant for infrastructural development, a CDA official said here Friday.

Jubilee Town Lahore to have boundry wall, plazas to be demolished

LAHORE Development Authority (LDA) Director General Arif Khan has directed authorities concerned to demolish or seal all commercial plazas being constructed or already constructed in Jubilee Town on residential plots.

According to a press release issued on Thursday, Arif Khan visited Jubilee Town accompanied by officials of Engineering Department, Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) and Town Planning. He issued orders for demolition of plazas at the spot and took action against those responsible for this violation.

Islamabad: CDA reserves sector D-15 for low-income persons

ISLAMABAD - The Capital Development Authority (CDA) Tuesday approved reserving D-15 Sector for the low-income people.
The approval was made in the CDA Board meeting, which was presided over by CDA Chairman Kamran Lashari and was attended by members of the CDA board.

Islamabad: Sector I-15 allotees await possession of flats

ISLAMABAD: Allottees of Sector I-15 are still denied possession of their plots even after a passage of three years. Around 4500 plots and 8000 flats in Sector I-15 were allotted to citizens in a computerized draw held on Nov 30, 2005. The sector was developed for low income segment of society on special directions of then prime minister. It was decided that the Capital Development Authority would complete development work in two years and hand over plots to the allottees. However, the civic agency has not started development work in the sector yet, The Post has learnt.

Lahore: Bedian kilns spew deadly gases, poison DHA air

* Approximately 60 kilns situated in Bedian
* Furnaces fuelled by tyres and ghee
* Carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide emitted during burning

LAHORE: There are about 160 brick kilns in and around the city. These kilns are a major source of gases that pose a health risk to residents living close to them, an official of the Environment Protection Department (EPD) told Daily Times on Sunday.

Lahore: Work starts at PU housing society

PUNJAB University (PU) Vice-Chancellor Dr Mujahid Kamran inaugurated development work at Town-I and Town-II of the PU Employees Housing Society (PUEHS) on Sunday.

Speaking on the occasion, the VC said the society was a long-standing demand of university employees and efforts were started in this regard in 1973. He gave the credit to former vice-chancellor Lt Gen (r) Arshad Mahmood as land was purchased during his tenure.

PUEHS Management Committee President Prof Muhammad Arif Butt congratulated all members of the society for their services.

LDA launches two housing schemes with 2,10,000 plots

LAHORE - Just few days before the new government is going to assume its charge in Punjab, the Lahore Development Authority has launched two new housing schemes with 2,10,000 plots.
These two schemes, situated at southern part of the city, are learnt to be run on the footstep of Defence Housing Authority. The LDA approved the housing schemes on October 31, 2006 with notification under LDA Act 1975 to meet the residential requirements of the city. The Punjab government has banned sale and purchase of land in the concerned areas.

Big housing scheme for Sialkot

SIALKOT: The Punjab Minister for Housing, Development & Public Health Engineering Mian Shafqat Ali has said the provincial government will soon launch a big housing scheme in the city for ensuring early provision of residential facilities to the low-income earning people on the subsidised rates.
