Lahore: LDA to establish quality control labs for housing schemes

The Lahore Development Authority is going to establish 'Quality Control Laboratories' for assessment of road material and construction procedure in all its housing schemes soon. These quality control laboratories will test the different material used for the construction of roads as per digital age demands. These laboratories will also determine the road strength and life. LDA designated officials will head the laboratories.

Emaar Pakistan invites Crescent Bay customers

ISLAMABAD: Emaar Pakistan, the country subsidiary of Emaar Properties, has invited customers, who registered on a 'first come first serve basis' at the soft launch held in December 2007 for the Crescent Bay Phase 1, to select apartments at a special sales event to be held from June 30 to July 7.

Islamabad: Possession of plots in Sector D-12 still a dream

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has yet to give possession of residential plots to Sector D-12 allottees that have been yearning to have their own shelter in the city.

The authority had launched the sector in 1989, but the compensation disputes, breach of contract by the contractor, escalation of construction cost, and slow pace of development work are some of the factors that led to delay in the execution of the project.

Emaar Pakistan ushering in new lifestyle concept

islamabad: Emaar Pakistan, the country subsidiary of Emaar Properties is recreating the same successful ‘Dubai model’ in Pakistan with its master planned communities, highlands and Canyon Views in Islamabad and Crescent Bay in Karachi.

According to a press release Saturday these projects are part of a $2.4 billion investment in the country by Emaar.

Managing director Emaar Pakistan, Steve McCartt said the world over preferences of community living was changing.

Islamabad: CDA sets aside Rs 2.736bn for residential sectors

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has allocated Rs 2.736 billion for land acquisition for new residential sectors in its budget for year 2008-09. CDA Chairman Kamran Lashari told reporters after budget announcement on Friday that the CDA would launch seven new residential sectors for which land was being acquired. He said the CDA would acquire land for these sectors as per land-sharing formula. It has been reported that the federal capital is currently facing a shortage of 40,000 housing units and the number of exiting housing units stands at 70,000.

Islamabad: CDA to execute 100 development projects

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) will execute over 100 development projects costing Rs19.3 billion during the financial year 2008-2009.

“In the development budget, roads, special projects, environment, water supply, and sewerage sector have been allocated maximum funds,” CDA Chairman Kamran Lashari and Member Finance Kamran Qureshi said while announcing authority’s budget for fiscal year 2008-09 here Friday.

Islamabad: CDA to announce Rs26b budget

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) will announce its budget for the financial year 2008-2009 with a record total outlay of around Rs26 billion today (Friday).

“It will be a surplus budget for the fourth consecutive year,” a senior official of the civic body told ‘The News’ Wednesday.

CDA Chairman Kamran Lashari and member finance will announce the budget at a news conference at main committee room. Earlier, Lashari will chair a special board meeting to accord approval to the budget.

New Islamabad airport: CAA guideline pushes housing schemes into tight corner

RAWALPINDI, June 26: The existence of housing schemes in the vicinity of the new Islamabad International Airport at Pind Ranjha near Fatehjang has come under severe threat as the project management has notified that development of any such scheme would now require its prior approval.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has advised all housing societies to submit applications for No Objection Certificate to the New Islamabad International Airport project director, together with geographical information of the society and the proposed building map.

Islamabad Rapid Mass Transit System: Rs 70m to be allocated to feasibility study

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) will allocate Rs 70 million in budget 2008-09 to the conduct of a feasibility study of Rapid Mass Transit System (RMTS) between Rawalpindi and Islamabad, an official told Daily Times on Thursday. He said the CDA board approved the project in a meeting presided over by authority’s Chairman Kamran Lashari on Wednesday. All board members and senior officials of the civic body attended the meeting.
