ISLAMABAD: Talon Group of UAE taking interest in PM housing scheme
Submitted by Overseas on Thu, 10/30/2008 - 07:41A delegation of Talon Group of the UAE on Wednesday called on Minister for Housing & Works Rehmatullah Kakar and expressed keenness to participate in the upcoming housing scheme in Pakistan.
The delegation, headed by its Chief Executive Paul Kerman Shahchi, exchanged views on the modalities, financing and other issues of common interest related to the construction of housing units/flats under the Prime Minister’s Housing for All Programme.

ISLAMABAD: CDA faces financial disaster, plans plots’ sale

Popularly known as a moneyed civic agency, Capital Development Authority (CDA) is reportedly so strapped for cash that it has asked its directorates, especially one dealing with estate, to auction government land in the town to meet expenditures.
Daily Times has it from reliable CDA officials that the authority is left with just eight billion rupees after using up most of its reserve funds and the money generated from sale of I-14 and I-15 plots within first three months of the current fiscal year.

ISLAMABAD: Negligence delays Zero Point project

The Zero Point interchange project worth Rs 2.3 billion delays due to negligence on part of the IESCO.
The CDA sent several letters to IESCO to remove or shift main power lines, which are passing over the main road, but to no avail. Work on the Zero point Interchange is in full swing while work on link roads and loops have also been started. Deforestation is in its last stages.
Expansion, up gradation and up work of Kashmir Highway has been started.

Pakistan Property prices drop by 15-30pc since Jan 2008

KARACHI, Oct 25: Property prices have further declined by at least 15-30 per cent this year as investors have been on the sidelines since 2005 owing to uncertain political and economic conditions in the country.
Even the formation of a new government after the February general elections and the PPP-MQM alliance in Sindh has failed to woo the investors. As a result, there has been no impact on the property market after these developments. Real estate dealers had estimated price hike by 20-30 per cent after the PPP-MQM alliance.

Islamabad: Allottees of I-11 to get possession of plots within 45 days
Submitted by Overseas on Sun, 10/26/2008 - 07:53Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Tariq Mehmood Khan Saturday directed the concerned department to take steps for handing over possession of plots to the allottees of Sector I-11 within 45 days.
In a meeting with the delegation of sectors I-11/1 and I-11/2 Allotees Welfare Society held here, the chairman further directed to dislodge the illegal occupants of Sector I-11 to immediately hand over the possession of plots to its allottees who have been suffering since long.

ISLAMABAD: MoU inked with UAE group to build one million houses

The MoU lays down the framework for launching housing schemes for the federal government employees, general public and the needy on the public-private partnership basis.

RAWALPINDI: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Friday inaugurated work on the Elevated Expressway to be built over Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Road from the Mall to Faizabad.
The chief minister unveiled plaque of the Rs 16 billion project at Flashman’s Chowk on the Mall near General Headquarters (GHQ) before going to the main campus of University of Arid Agriculture, Rawalpindi (UAAR), where the main function was arranged.
