LAHORE: Low-cost housing in few days

CM Says govt to distribute state land among farmers, agri and veterinary graduates

PUNJAB Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said the government has decided in principle to launch a low-cost housing scheme for homeless people and the project will be formally initiated within a few days.

Speaking at a briefing to PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif on public-welfare projects, the CM said state land will be distributed among landless farmers, agri and veterinary graduates in a transparent manner and land for this purpose had been identified in 21 districts of the province.

KARACHI: IT Media City approved

The long pending project of IT Media City has finally been approved to help boost the IT industry in Pakistan, said Haroon Raza, Minister for IT Sindh.

In a meeting, the Minister said that the project, spread over 200 acres is going to be a key stimulant for the IT industry of Pakistan which can serve as an economic engine for the country. “The project will be launched soon when it is the right time and we can attract more value,” he said.

ISLAMABAD: Work on Bhara Kahu Housing Project soon

Work on Bhara Kahu Housing Project would be initiated soon, Minister for Housing and Works Rehmatullah Kakar told APP on Monday.

The minister said that about 3,000 kanals of land in the area had been purchased, where 15,000 plots would be allotted to the government employees, common people and journalists.

Kakar added that 5,000 plots would be allotted to the registered applicants.

Kakar explained that the allotment would be made to the government employees on ‘no profit no loss basis’. “About two percent quota has been allocated for journalists,” he elaborated.
