Islamabad: D-12 development work to complete by June: CDA chief

Provision of electricity, gas and other allied facilities to Sector D-12 would be completed by June 2010 and the development work of Sector E-12 would be initiated soon, said Capital Development Authority Chairman Imtiaz Inayat Elahi on Thursday. He was presiding over a meeting at CDA Headquarters to review the development work of Sector D-12. The officials told the chairman that development work of Sector D-12 was in full swing to facilitate the allottees of plots, said a press release.

ISLAMABAD: Groundbreaking ceremony of DHA Homes held

The DHA Islamabad and the Bahria Town organised the groundbreaking ceremony for DHA Homes on Monday, says a press release.

The chief guest on this occasion was Mustafa Babur HIzlan, Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan. DHA Islamabad Administrator Brig (retd) Javed Iqbal, Bahria Town Chairman Malik Riaz Hussain, Bahria Town Chief Executive Ahmed Ali Riaz, Managing Director Habib Rafique Zahid Rafique and dignitaries of Rawalpindi and Islamabad and a large number of DHA residents also attended the ceremony.

ISLAMABAD: CDA plans 80% to 100% raise in property tax, water charges

Cash strapped Capital Development Authority (CDA) has planned to increase property tax up to 80 percent and water charges up to 100 percent to meet its expenditures, Daily Times learnt on Tuesday.

The sources said the authority’s Revenue Directorate had sent a summary to CDA Board for review of property and water tax. The authority had reviewed water and property tax last time in year 2000, the sources said.

KARACHI: Housing minister reviews public-private housing scheme

Federal Minister for Housing and Works Rehmatullah Kakar Saturday reviewed the progress of work of PHA-Maymar Towers, a public-private housing scheme in Maymarabad. Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani had launched the scheme last year. Addressing the meeting, Kakar pointed out that the PHA-Maymar Towers was a big scheme and he was satisfied with its progress of work. It was agreed in principle that those flat allottees, who failed to deposit instalments within the stipulated time, would be allowed to deposit the money by March 15.
