Islamabad: Land acquisition for D-14 starts

The land acquisition for sector D-14 is in full swing as the Capital Development Authority (CDA) is mulling to launch the sector at earliest.

A senior CDA official said the sector would be launched for residential purposes as the housing shortage in the federal capital was deteriorating with every passing day.

He said the land owners would be compensated as per the land- sharing formula, introduced by the CDA, under which the land owners would be given one-fourth of the total land in developed form.

The official said the Authority has already advertised the process of land acquisition and asked land owners to register their complaints, if they have, about the process or evacuation of their land.

He said the land of Mauza Sara-e Kharbuza, Johad, Shah Allah Ditta and Rakkh Sarkar would be developed for residential purposes to bridge gap between demand and supply of housing units.

He said the Khasra numbers of Sara-e Kharbuza, Johad and Shah Allah Ditta have also been advised to avoid any inconvenience for the land owners.

The official said CDA has planned to open six residential sectors and two sub sectors in Islamabad those include D-13, E-13, F-13, D-14, C-13, and C-14. The sub sectors are D-15/2 and D-15/3.

He said the affectees of these sectors would be accommodated in sector I-14 where they would be allotted land against their owned land.

The official said the Authority is also planning to develop these sectors through public private partnership to share the burden of the CDA and ensure quality as well.

He said Authority is also considering inviting foreign firms as well for development purposes as it would bring investment in the country. APP report, 1-May-09

Opening up of the new sectors

D-14 land acquisition may be in full swing but development of already annouced sectors hanging for more than two decades, possession of I-16 is offered without provision of water, gas and electricity, more than two months a go a task force formed to monitor and report every two weeks for uplift project in D-12 and E-12 has failed to deliver any thing, chaireman CDA Triq Mehmood's promise to visit and observe the development in D-12 on march 25 has gone unnoticed like all other deadlines for completion of development projects, seems to me projects involve flyovers roads etc., are more lucrative and inspire more interest, efforts and visits, opening of new sectors while already annoeced sectors waiting for a scratch is a legalised state fraud, after all that prime ministr's satisfaction over CDA's performence is like " cherry on the cake"
